While recently planning my wedding, I discovered that I hated wedding dress shopping! Everything I had always dreamed of was far above my price range. I was planning on a tight budget and I felt like I had to compromise on what I wanted in order to stay within my allowance. I never wanted another bride to feel like she had to compromise on the most important dress of her life.
Now that I’m married, my dress sits in my closet doing nothing more than taking up space. And I’m not alone! I realized there was an easy solution to both of these problems, and Something Borrowed Bridal Rentals was born. Something Borrowed aims to give brides an affordable way to wear the dress of their dreams, and provides a way for past brides to put their dresses to good use.

WHAT ARE YOUR RENTAL COSTS?
Most of our gowns range in price between $300 and $600. We do have a few select high end designer dresses that rent out for a slightly higher price point, but all our gowns rent for under $1,000. An $85 dry cleaning fee is also due with each dress rental.
HOW MANY GOWNS DO YOU HAVE?
We have over 00 gowns for you to choose from ranging between size 0-32! All of our gowns were designed and purchased within that past five years, so our stock is completely up to date with the latest trends in bridal fashion.
DO YOU RENT BRIDAL ACCESSORIES?
Yes we do! If you are renting a gown with us, you can rent out a belt for $15 or a veil for $30. If you are not renting a dress with us, you can rent a belt for $30 and a veil for $50.
WHAT IS THE RENTAL PERIOD?
The rental period is a week long. We are willing to extend that time frame if needed. An extension fee may be added on a case by case basis depending on how long of an extension is needed. We also allow for multiple rentals if you need the gown for multiple events. See our answer below!
HOW DO BRIDALS OR ADDITIONAL EVENTS WORK?
If you need to use your dress outside of the one week rental for bridals, another reception, etc., no worries! You can take out the dress as many times as your wedding requires with only an additional $80 dry cleaning fee for each time you plan to take the dress out.
DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT?
We always allow walk-ins during our open hours, but we cannot guarantee there will be an open dressing room if you do walk-in. We give priority to our brides that have appointments, but we can usually accommodate additional brides.
HOW DO YOU RESERVE A DRESS?
In order to reserve a dress, half of the rental total is due as a non-refundable deposit. This will reserve the gown and any desired accessories for your event dates.

DO YOU ACCEPT ALL WEDDING GOWNS?
We currently accept dresses that are 3 years old and newer and are consistent with current fashion trends in all sizes, shapes, and styles. We also accept select classic vintage styles. We reserve the right to deny any gown based on style or condition.
ARE THERE ANY UPFRONT COSTS?
Not at all! You bring the dress in ready-to-rent condition, and we will take care of all costs from there. That means we cover dry cleaning and repairs in between rentals. If your dress is currently dirty, you can bring your dress in and pay us to dry clean it for you at cost.
DO YOU BUY DRESSES?
No, unfortunately we don’t buy wedding gowns, but we would gladly consign with you.
WHAT IF MY DRESS IS DAMAGED?
While your dress is in our care, we will always fix any repairable damage that occurs. If your dress is damaged beyond repair, we will pay you the full market value of the dress, which averages out to 60% of the original cost you paid for your gown.
HOW MUCH DO I RECEIVE WHEN MY DRESS IS RENTED?
Each time your dress is rented you will receive 25% of the total rental price. We determine the rental price based on the original cost of your dress.
HOW MUCH WOULD YOU RENT MY DRESS FOR?
Your dress would be rented anywhere between $300 and $600. We do make special exceptions for dresses that originally cost over $3,500.
WHAT IF I NEED MY DRESS BACK?
Just notify us that you would like to pick up your dress and we will have it ready for you within one week. If your dress is currently reserved you will be able to pick up your dress one week after the rental date.
DO YOU CONSIGN ACCESSORIES?
We do accept bridal accessories, however, we do not pay commission on them. We rent out our accessories for a very minimal cost and the commission you would receive would be so insignificant that we do not pay out for those rentals.
